ThunderSharks Earn 9-3 Win Against Sounds
|
The Honolulu ThunderSharks beat the Nashville Sounds, 9-3, in 12 innings at First Tennessee Park. T.J. Wiegert, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 6 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The second-place ThunderSharks have won 5 consecutive games.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Frank Davis came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Nashville pitcher Wendell Kamstra, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Honolulu on top, 4-3.
"I still think this team can play even better," Wiegert told the Honolulu Observer.
