In a low-scoring contest, Sacramento pitcher Jeremy Curry was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win. By defeating Reno, the 5th-place River Cats improved to 70-57.

Matt Weber had a big 2-run home run for the River Cats in the bottom of the second inning. With Sacramento leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a slider from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Tag Bryan and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the River Cats on top, 3-0.

Curry said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
