Down to Defeat Goes Albuquerque, 3-1
|
The Tacoma Rainiers picked up a win at Cheney Stadium, knocking off the Albuquerque Isotopes, 3-1. Starting pitcher Jason Rennie played a key role in the triumph. Rennie picked up the win for Tacoma, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Walt Kozlowski picked up his 19th save of the season.
Tacoma took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Nicolas Barajas hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Rainiers.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Rennie.
Tacoma, at 80-48, is 3 games up in the Pacific Coast League Pacific Division.
