Greater Nevada Field played host to some high drama.

Del Dawson had a productive game, enabling the Tucson Sidewinders to defeat the El Paso Chihuahuas, 9-8, in 11 innings. Dawson went 3-5 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Sidewinders. The win belonged to Byron Johnson in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Frasquito Duran took the loss for El Paso.

The Sidewinders got a clutch hit from designated hitter Yansiel Aldana. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Sidewinders.

"That game was intense," Dawson said.

The Sidewinders now have a record of 66-59.
