Tucson Triumphs with Late Surge
The Honolulu ThunderSharks got a sterling performance from pitcher Mark Greenland, but the Tucson Sidewinders still prevailed, 5-2. Greenland threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Tucson reliever Lincoln Hulbert picked up the win to move to 2-0. Cayden Walsh suffered the loss. J.J. Vincent earned the save, his 9th, for the Sidewinders.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Scott Lungu came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Honolulu pitcher Cayden Walsh, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Tucson on top, 4-2.

Lungu told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.

The win gives Tucson a season record of 79-46.
