The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Houston Astros, 6-5, at Minute Maid Park. Philadelphia second baseman Corey Wells banged out 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Nevada Redding earned the save, his 8th, for the Phillies. The last-place Astros have lost 6 straight games.

Philadelphia used a clutch at-bat from Justin Martin to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Phillies ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
