Edwards Helps St. Louis Bombard Montreal
The St. Louis Cardinals cruised to a win over the Montreal Expos, 14-4, at Olympic Stadium. Fred Edwards, who is on pace for 101 RBI this season, led the way, going 2-for-4 for St. Louis. Picking up the save was Quint Anders, his 2nd. The third-place Expos have dropped 4 straight games.

St. Louis grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Edwards hit a 2-run home run off Jason Martinelli. His 7th home run of the season put the Cardinals out in front, 6-4.

Montreal manager Steve Dominguez said: "We'll put this one in the trash can and get ready for the next game."
