Sanibel and Oviedo engaged in a slugfest.

In a game featuring no shortage of runs, the Sanibel Sailors defeated the Oviedo Catch, 15-13. One of the hitting stars was Sanibel catcher Eric Gray. Gray went 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Raphael Lorenzo picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Iván Rubio was tagged with the loss.

Tono Galvan chipped in for Sanibel, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning. For the game, the shortstop went 2-5 with a double and a walk.

"They're fun to watch and the hitters get to pad their stats but nobody's really happy about a game like that," Sanibel manager Shannon Vincek. "I promise you I'm not happy."

At 35-23, the Sailors claim second place in the Florida Rookie League Northwest Division.
