Aqua Sox Get 2-1 Win Versus Fort Lauderdale

Colton Gould pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Fort Lauderdale Pirates, despite Gould's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Pompano Beach Aqua Sox at Champion Stadium. Samuel Rozier earned the save for Pompano Beach, his 4th of the year. Pompano Beach occupies 8th place in the Florida Rookie League Southeast Division at 32-31.
In the bottom of the sixth, Pompano Beach shortstop Dustin Jackson put his team on top. With no one out and a runner on 2nd, he hit his 3rd home run of the year. Fort Lauderdale pitcher Colton Gould served it up. Just like that, the Aqua Sox were ahead, 2-1.
"Runs were at a premium," said Pompano Beach manager Alberto Mata.
