The Grand Junction Rockies scooped up a win at Suplizio Field, dumping the Helena Brewers, 3-1. Jeff Brandenburg, who is tied for 5th in the PIO with a 1.34 WHIP, was essential to his team's success. With this game in the books, Grand Junction is 31-25, Helena 20-36.
Aimar Monarrez hit a 2-run home run off Keegan Gilliam in the bottom of the first, which put the Rockies ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Monarrez had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Brandenburg after the game.
