6-3 Triumph Takes Great Falls to 36-19
|
B.J. Herbert, who is tied for 4th in the PIO with a 0.96 WHIP, was locked in. The right-hander led the Great Falls Voyagers to a 6-3 win against the Cheyenne Chiefs at Ballpark of Cheyenne. Picking up the save was Gavin Flynn, his 18th. With the victory, the Voyagers record stands at 36-19.
Great Falls used a clutch at-bat from Juan Maria to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Voyagers ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Great Falls manager Vinny Rodriguez was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
