A jubilant Leonardo Jaimes joined the postgame press conference at Ballpark of Portsmouth to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Rocky Mountain Vibes pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Lethbridge Black Diamonds left fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 6-0 Black Diamonds win.

"He made it look easy," said Alex Pauls, manager of the Vibes. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Leonardo Jaimes singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This year, Jaimes is batting .333 with 5 home runs and 23 RBIs.
