The Medicine Hat Stampede bombarded the Butte Americans, 14-0, at Ballpark of Medicine Hat. Leading the blitz was Abraham Pauline. He went 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for Medicine Hat. Patrick Thompson earned the win, while 20-year old left-handed pitcher Benjamin Hunt took the loss for Butte. The Stampede go to 39-19, putting them first in the Pioneer League North Division.
Bentley Widmer, who is tied for 10th in the PIO in runs scored with 37, contributed to the Medicine Hat win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"We had a good plan and executed it," said winning manager Brantley Johnson.
