Rangers Use Late Surge to Win
|
The Texas Rangers rode a solid performance from 35-year-old starting pitcher Gaman Ramage to a win, beating the New York Mets, 7-2, at Citi Field. The win was credited to Remington Lockard in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Cannon Dunfey took the loss. Texas is now 31-24, 4 games up in the Western Region Central Division.
Texas used a timely hit from Stanley Gamble to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Said New York manager Jim Cheatham: "They just got the better of us."
