Cubs Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
The Reno Aces got a sterling performance from pitcher Jack Mazzetti, but the Iowa Cubs still prevailed, 6-3. Mazzetti threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The Cubs upped their record to 57-67.

Iowa used a timely hit from Jim Staggs to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cubs ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Staggs said his team "played with a purpose."
