Rainiers Handed 5-0 Loss by Winnipeg

Winnipeg Goldeyes starter Pierce Finlay turned in a top-notch performance against the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium. The result was a win for the Goldeyes, 5-0. Finlay picked up the win for Winnipeg, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-9. With this game in the books, Winnipeg is 64-55, Tacoma 72-47.
Winnipeg used a well-timed hit by Elijah Fujii to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Goldeyes ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Finlay.
