Tigers Lose as Rangers Stage Late Rally
The Detroit Tigers got a superb performance from pitcher Julian Svehla, but the Texas Rangers still won the game, 4-2. Svehla threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The win went to Harry Magallanes in relief, making him now 2-1. Joe Tackett took the loss for Detroit. The Rangers go to 28-26, putting them third in the National League Rivera Division.

Texas used a timely hit from 25-year old right fielder Gotzone Batista to get the win. The left fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rangers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was huge.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Batista told the Texas Citizen. "But we take nothing for granted."
