The Oklahoma City Wranglers knocked off the Tacoma Rainiers, 8-6, at Cheney Stadium. Mateo Velasco hit 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. The win was credited to 27-year old right-handed pitcher Brandon Dunbar in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Bobby Reid took the loss. Samuel Abbott recorded the save, his 7th.
In the top of the sixth, the Wranglers grabbed the lead when Velasco hit his 10th double of the season. The 2-run double off Alton Stockton made it 5-3, Oklahoma City.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Velasco told the Oklahoma City Bulletin.
The Wranglers now have a mark of 48-67.
