66ers 5-1 Victors Over Sidewinders
|
The rain did not keep Inland Empire and Tucson from finishing their game.
The Inland Empire 66ers defeated the Tucson Sidewinders, 5-1. Doing his part was third baseman Dakota McIntosh, who went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Ademár Belasco earned his 13th save in 16 chances.
In the bottom of the 6th, first baseman Nando Arriola gave Inland Empire the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The 66ers had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out single off Tucson pitcher Oliver Nickel changed that -- and Inland Empire went on to win.
"Winning is great," Arriola said. "It's always just guys picking each other up -- if not me, then the next guy."
With the win, the 66ers improved to 67-44.
