Isotopes Losers, 10-4, Versus Reno
|
The Reno Aces topped the Albuquerque Isotopes, 10-4, in Pacific Coast League action at Blues Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Reno pitcher and Bluefield, Virginia, native Grim Sleva. Sleva, now 4-11, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Leo Guerrero closed the door for Reno, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Keyton Oliver had a big 2-run double for the Aces in the bottom of the third inning. With Reno leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a changeup from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Hermes Rivera and swatted a double to left. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aces ahead, 4-1.
"Solid performance from our side," said Aces manager Ross Winfrey.
The 4th-place Aces bumped their record to 59-51.
