Albuquerque Topples Victoria, 8-3
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Albuquerque Isotopes and Victoria HarbourCats.
The Victoria HarbourCats got a sterling performance from third baseman Eric Enriquez, but the Albuquerque Isotopes still prevailed, 8-3. Enriquez went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. With the win over Victoria, the Isotopes improved to 62-50.
Almandeto Cedeño had a big 2-run home run for the Isotopes in the top of the second inning. With Albuquerque leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a sinker from Tom Neal, who is tied for 3rd in the PCL in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Isotopes on top, 4-0.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Albuquerque manager Ryan Thrasher.
