Nashville pitcher Vito Medina did his part in helping his team beat the Victoria HarbourCats, 4-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Medina got the win, improving to 8-7. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Deacon DiFrancesco earned the save for Nashville, his 20th of the year.
The Sounds got a big at-bat from second baseman Yared Ariza. For the game, Ariza went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Nashville a 2-0 lead.
"Vito can overpower you," said Nashville manager Ruben Almendarez.
Nashville now sits at 49-58, while Victoria falls to 50-57.
