The Lakewood BlueClaws dealt the Rome Braves a loss at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The final score was 8-5. Cory Glover was especially productive for Lakewood. In addition to his 1 single and 1 triple, he scored 1 run and drove in 3. Ike Bowman earned his 34th save, after closing out the game. Their 82-42 record puts the BlueClaws first in the South Atlantic League Northwest Division.
With Lakewood leading 3-2 in the bottom of the second, Glover hit a fastball from Harry D'Ambrose for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the BlueClaws ahead, 6-2.
In postgame comments to the Lakewood Citizen, Glover said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
