The Greensboro Grasshoppers beat the Delmarva Shorebirds, 6-5. Greensboro pitcher and Mayo, Florida, native Richie Johnson led the way. Johnson picked up the win for Greensboro, going 6 innings. He gave up 5 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 7-5. Picking up the save was Benjamin Lee, his 22nd.

The Grasshoppers got a big hit from center fielder Mike Wehr. Facing Delmarva pitcher Mitch Moore in the bottom of the fifth, Wehr pounded a run-scoring double to right. His 11th double of the season put the Grasshoppers ahead, 6-1.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Wehr, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
