Lexington Picks Up Another L
Starting pitcher Todd Rubio took care of business, helping the Columbus Catfish stifle the Lexington Legends, 1-0. Rubio yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 10-4. Ulisses Salazar earned the save for Columbus, his 16th of the year.

The Legends had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Catfish going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old catcher Sancho Menendez came to the plate. Menendez hit a solo home run on a first pitch sinker from Lexington hurler Lucas Alvare. It was Menendez's 7th home run of the year.

"It's Baseball 101," said Columbus manager Francisco Avalos. "Fundamentals."

This win makes it 5 in a row for Columbus.
