The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Minnesota Twins by a score of 10-6. Pittsburgh first baseman Kent Massey deserved the lion's share of the credit. Massey was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Pirates. Pittsburgh is now 35-18. Minnesota is 27-26.

Pittsburgh grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Massey hit a 2-run home run off Sean Lupi. His 9th home run of the season put the Pirates out in front, 3-1.
