The Lexington Legends got a superb performance from pitcher Liam Lowman, but the Hagerstown Suns still won the game, 6-4. Lowman threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Victor Vásquez got credit for the save for Hagerstown. It was his 1st of the year. At 80-30, the Suns claim first place in the South Atlantic League Northwest Division.

Had Drew Simmons not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Simmons hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Suns.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Simmons told the Hagerstown Observer.
