The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Augusta fans at First Energy Park.

Augusta beat Jonesboro on the strength of starting pitcher Maury Turner's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Tomas Saucedo got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings.

Had J.J. Maslach not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Maslach hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the GreenJackets.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Turner. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."

The win makes Augusta 61-49.
