Black Bears Handed 2-0 Loss by Angels
|
Disney Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Virginia Black Bears and California Angels.
The California Angels got a magnificent performance from pitcher Lance Kemp, who muffled the Virginia offense en route to a tight, 2-0 Angels win at Disney Stadium. Kemp got the win, improving to 3-6. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Getting the save was Curtis Keegan, his 13th.
Kyle Wells hit a 2-run home run off Ethan McNeal in the bottom of the second, which put the Angels ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Wells had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.
In comments to the California Daily, Wells insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
At 23-29, the Angels claim 4th place in the American League Pons Division.
