The home crowd came to cheer on their first-place Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.

No one was more impactful than Zachary Matthews in the 5-4 Jacksonville win over Rocket City. Matthews, who is tied for 10th in the SL with a .390 on-base percentage, went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jacksonville reliever Benjamin Moery picked up the win. Ryder Braunschweig took the loss for Rocket City.

Jacksonville catcher Allen Pomeroy contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a screwball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the Jumbo Shrimp ahead, 3-0.

"It all comes down to competing and our guys love to compete," said Jumbo Shrimp manager Craig Lauer.

The Jumbo Shrimp boast a remarkable 84-20 record.
