Braves Make Blue Wahoos 2-1 Losers
|
The Mississippi Braves got a magnificent effort from pitcher Jake Scumaci, who kept Pensacola hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Braves win at Rebels Ballpark. The win puts the Braves at 43-61, while the Blue Wahoos drop to 41-63.
T.J. Martinez, the 26-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Martinez contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Mississippi up, 2-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Mississippi manager Derek Campbell.
