Busch Stadium was rocking after an exciting Cardinals win.
The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Vancouver Cascades, 4-3, in 10 innings in American League action at Busch Stadium. St. Louis pitcher Jim Combs had a standout performance. With the win, St. Louis goes to 26-26, while the Cascades fall to 24-28.
The decisive blow was delivered by Asher Gautreau in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 26-year old right-handed pitcher F.J. Elliott to win the game for St. Louis. The home crowd went nuts.
"This place sure got loud," said Tommy Bushmaker, the St. Louis manager.
