Chihuahuas Lose Contest, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring clash between Tucson and El Paso, pitcher Jack Brent was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned praise for his performance in the 3-1 Sidewinders win. Nate Leetch wrapped it up, recording his 9th save. Tucson is third in the Pacific Coast League Pacific Division with a record of 60-46.
Tucson used the timely hitting of Ruy Hinojosa to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sidewinders on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Every loss stings," said El Paso manager Sawyer Sandbach. "This one is no exception."
