Evansville Dismisses Inland Empire, 6-1
|
Evansville Triplets starter Logan Gray was in midseason form, as he helped his team beat the Inland Empire 66ers, 6-1. The winner was Gray. He threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Liam Arthur. Evansville, at 47-61, holds down 8th place in the Pacific Coast League American Divison.
Evansville used a well-timed hit by Scotty Canales to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Triplets ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Canales. "And not try to do too much."
