The performance of Oscar Bankole proved critical in helping Winnipeg beat Honolulu, 9-4. The Goldeyes first baseman was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The Goldeyes upped their record to 61-42.
Orange, California-born Abdul Williams came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Goldeyes trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Winnipeg on top.
