Sacramento Defeated by Nashville, 3-1
|
The Nashville Sounds earned a close win over the Sacramento River Cats, thanks in part to Lance Testerman. The Nashville right-hander played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Nashville reliever Lance Testerman got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Anton Helguera was tagged with the loss. The 6th-place Sounds bumped their record to 48-54.
Had Sudan Johnson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Johnson hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Sounds.
Johnson attributed the win to his team's "dogged determination."
