Big Day for Martín in 7-2 Wranglers Win
|
The Oklahoma City Wranglers stopped the Edmonton Edge, 7-2, at Wranglers Ballpark. The Wranglers got a big game from Dauri Martín, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Gabe Azua, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Edge to 1 run on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Truman O'Donnell was credited with the save for Oklahoma City, his 3rd of the season.
Carter Hale dealt the Edge a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Oklahoma City leading 1-0, Hale hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Martín said in reaction to the win.
The loss makes Edmonton 62-40.
