Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Reno Aces and the Honolulu ThunderSharks. Reno won it, 3-1. Reno starter Victor Hayden was in command. Reliever Thatcher Corcoran picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Ronald DiMaria took the loss. Stuart Boyd, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities.

Victor Baptist drove in one run for Reno. The 26-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Rafael Magana. It was his 22nd RBI of the season.

"Nothing fazes Victor," said Reno manager Steve Kapp.

Reno now sits in 8th place in the Pacific Coast League Pacific Division at 41-59.
