ThunderSharks Snag 5-4 Win
|
The Honolulu ThunderSharks picked up a win at Blues Stadium, knocking off the Reno Aces, 5-4. On the mound for Honolulu was right-hander Pokey Scott, who played a pivotal role in the win. The ThunderSharks saw their win-loss record go to 53-45. At the same time, the Aces fell to 40-58.
Honolulu used the timely hitting of Brian Calderon to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the ThunderSharks on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Reno manager Steve Kapp.
