HarbourCats Beat Wranglers, 6-2
|
The Victoria HarbourCats beat the Oklahoma City Wranglers, 6-2, at Wranglers Ballpark. The win was due in part to first baseman Samuel Vay, who was 3-3 with 3 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Derek Boger got credit for the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 5.1 innings. Jhonny Guevara picked up the save for Victoria, his 2nd of the year.
Tyler Lindow, the 29-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Lindow contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Victoria up, 2-0.
Lindow told a Victoria News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
The 6th-place HarbourCats improved to 49-51.
