66ers Knock Off Tucson, 6-4
|
Though he had a stellar game, Tom Cervantes could not prevent his team, the Tucson Sidewinders, from losing, 6-4, to the Inland Empire 66ers. Cervantes went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. Inland Empire is now 60-35.
Inland Empire used a clutch at-bat from Jacob Summers to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the 66ers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Said Inland Empire manager Mark Griffin: "Our approach was outstanding all night long."
