With left fielder Raffy Ortiz leading the charge, the Inland Empire 66ers defeated the Reno Aces, 7-4, at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Ortiz, who is tied for 5th in the PCL in total bases with 152, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Inland Empire pitcher Phil Meyer earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Nathan McCalip suffered the loss. Inland Empire is now 47-46.

The 66ers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Mateo Matos. For the game, Matos was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Inland Empire a 5-2 lead.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Matos said.
