Cubs Reel-In 5-2 Win Over ThunderSharks
|
The Iowa Cubs picked up a win at Smith's Ballpark, defeating the Honolulu ThunderSharks, 5-2. Starting pitcher Esteban Alaniz was an essential part of his team's success. The ThunderSharks have now dropped 8 straight.
Iowa used a clutch at-bat from Louis Tripp to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Cubs ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"This game will humble you at times and you've got to buck up and deal with it," said Honolulu manager Neil Kuntz.
