Win Makes River Cats 47-45
|
Zenaido Mejia pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Inland Empire 66ers, despite Mejia's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Sacramento River Cats at River Cats Ballpark. Costanzo Salieri earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 3-1. Antonio Serrato earned the save, his 6th in 7 tries.
Dylan Wynn helped out the Sacramento cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 1-3.
Said Inland Empire manager J.D. Fayson: "They pitched the heck out of us."
The win gives Sacramento a season record of 47-45.
