Inland Empire 5-2 Win Hard-Earned
|
The Inland Empire 66ers picked up a win at River Cats Ballpark, knocking off the Sacramento River Cats, 5-2, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher V.J. Olaroia played a key role in the conquest. Jeremiah Tubach earned the save, his 4th in 8 tries. The win puts the 66ers at 53-37, while the River Cats drop to 45-45.
Jordan Kingston delivered a big hit for Inland Empire. The second baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the 66ers ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"Games like this one keep the antacid makers in business," quipped Sacramento manager Jake Braithwaite.
