Hicks Steals Spotlight, But Last Laugh Belongs to Reno
|
At Blues Stadium, the Nashville Sounds and Reno Aces were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Reno Aces besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Nashville shortstop Hunter Hicks by beating the Sounds, 11-5, at Blues Stadium. Hicks was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Reno pitcher Yogi Bridges earned the win, hiking his record to 3-8. Prelander Amador suffered the loss.
Early in the game, catcher Stu Daum had a 3-run home run for Reno. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Aces on top, 7-4.
"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Daum told the Reno Bulletin.
After today's action, Reno sits at 30-55; Nashville slips to 45-40.
