Baby Cakes Beat Triplets, 9-2
|
The Evansville Triplets and New Orleans Baby Cakes met at BB&T Stadium to settle a score.
The New Orleans Baby Cakes knocked off the Evansville Triplets, 9-2, at BB&T Stadium. Calvin Pascoe was a big reason New Orleans won. The left fielder went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Brandon Sperling notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now sits at 8-1.
New Orleans used a well-timed hit by Jeremy Alexander to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Baby Cakes ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"I put some good swings on the ball tonight," said Pascoe.
New Orleans, at 64-24, occupies first place in the Pacific Coast League American Divison.
