Triplets Take Down Baby Cakes, 4-2
|
Evansville Triplets starter Nicky Park pitched a strong game against the New Orleans Baby Cakes at BB&T Stadium, leading the Triplets to victory, 4-2. Roberto Mays notched his 21st save in 22 chances. The win elevated the Triplets to 44-41.
Joseph Dart had a big run-scoring double for the Triplets in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Evansville leading 3-2 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Mike Mears and swatted a double to left. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Triplets ahead, 4-2.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Evansville manager Mike McGarry. "Our pregame was pretty good."
