River Cats Fall, 2-0, to Round Rock
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Round Rock Express and the Sacramento River Cats, pitcher Maurice Mick was the difference between victory and defeat. The Round Rock right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-0 Express win. Mick got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up no hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. Round Rock is now 40-41, Sacramento 48-33.
Carson Snow had a big solo home run for the Express in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Round Rock leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Bob Aller and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Express on top, 2-0.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Mick.
