Goldeyes Edge Omaha in Pitching Duel
|
Werner Park hosted a real pitchers' duel.
Shon Olmstead pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Omaha Storm Chasers, despite Olmstead's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Werner Park. The winning continues for Winnipeg, with the latest triumph making it 7 straight.
Asher Gautreau, who is rated as the 19th best prospect by BNN, had a direct impact on the outcome. Gautreau contributed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put Winnipeg up, 1-0.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Gautreau said.
